Colorado Rockies: Gerardo Parra

One of the biggest disappointments this season in the National League has been the play of the Colorado Rockies. Last season, the Rockies made it to the playoffs as a Wild Card team, but it looks like magic has run out on Bud Black in year two.

Black replaced Walt Weiss for the 2017 season, and he had a tremendous first year back in the dugout. In 2018, the team has struggled to play consistent baseball over the first couple of months of the season, and find themselves under .500 as we enter July.

The good thing with this organization is that they have a lot of young talent, and many of their young players have already gotten Major League experience. The problem is, they have a lot of veterans on this roster that are just playing terrible baseball this season, and a number of them could be moved at the trade deadline.

One of those players is not Gerardo Parra, who has been an incredibly productive bat in the Rockies lineup since coming over from the Baltimore Orioles for the 2016 season. Parra hit over .300 last season for the Rockies, and is currently batting over the .300 mark again for the Rockies in 2018.

With other veterans struggling, Parra could be viewed as a very valuable trading chip for the Rockies. He has the ability to play all over the outfield, and if the Rockies continue to fall in the standings, team could come calling for his availability.
