While they are easy to overlook in the Western Conference, the Suns have an enviable stable of young players. Already with a young star in Devin Booker, the team added three high picks in last month’s draft.
As the first overall pick, DeAndre Ayton is the biggest ticket in the league for the summer event. The seven-footer put up dominant numbers at Arizona and will look to continue to produce in the desert.
The team selected Mikal Bridges with the tenth pick after a draft-night trade. Bridges will look to help the Suns establish a winning culture after taking home two national titles as a Wildcat.
With the first pick of the second round, the Suns selected Ellie Okobo from France. With Elfrid Payton signing with the Pelicans and Tyler Ulis released, Okobo will have a chance to be the starting point guard.
2017 fourth-overall pick Josh Jackson will try to expand his game as he heads into his second season. Will Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, and Jayson Tatum absent, Jackson will be the highest-drafted player from the 2017 draft in Las Vegas.
The team also has the fourth pick from the 2016 draft in Dragan Bender. Bender is still only 20 years old and the team feels he still has some developing to do.
Phoenix also has a pair of second-round picks from the 2017 draft in Davon Reed out of Miami and Alec Peters from Valparaiso.
