RAW Women’s Championship Match (Extreme Rules Match)

Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Nia Jax

What we learned: We learned here that Alexa Bliss vs. Ronda Rousey seems to be the plan for SummerSlam.

As for the actual match that took place, the only official Extreme Rules Match on the card, there were way too many things that didn’t make sense, even if it all somehow turned out to be somewhat enjoyable. But that’s wrestling, am I right? It didn’t take too long for the Extreme Rules stipulation to come into play as weapons started flying around like candy at a parade. Nia Jax had a bit of trouble breaking that first kendo stick but she got the job done and her stopping every attempt from Alexa Bliss there on the outside and throwing each thing into the ring was pretty funny.

Back on the inside, Alexa took a solid bump as Nia slammed her onto a garbage can, which was a great way to display some more power without doing too much. The stipulation helped out because it allowed others to get involved (we’ll get to you know who in a minute) but Natalya just seemed out of place. Mickie being down there made sense because she’s been buddied up to Alexa for a while but just because Ronda Rousey is sitting at ringside means Natalya is down there for Nia? Okay, sure.

As we all figured would happen, Rousey did jump the barricade (with no sign of security anywhere…shocking, I know) and get herself involved but she surprisingly had nothing to do with the outcome. That came as Mickie and Alexa beat down the challenger with some chair shots and Little Miss Bliss walked out as champion and got the staredown treatment from Ronda as she headed back up the ramp.

What’s next: As I said earlier, all signs are now pointing to Ronda Rousey challenging Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. There’s still a chance that it could be a three-way dance with Nia thrown in there but I think a one-on-one match is the way to go. Ronda’s suspension is up but her involvement in this match is certainly going to be a topic of discussion on RAW.
