  • Outland Trophy (2011)
  • Jacobs Blocking Trophy (2011)
  • Rimington Trophy (2012)
  • 2x First-team All-SEC (2011, 2012)
  • 2x Consensus All-American (2011, 2012)

Barrett Jones was a four-star prospect, one of the top players in the state of Tennessee, and the No. 1 center in the nation coming out of high school. He did eventually play center for Alabama but only after spending three seasons essentially playing a one-man game of musical chairs on Alabama’s offensive line.

After redshirting in 2008, he started 14 games at right guard in 2009, Alabama’s first national championship team of the Saban era. Due to the team’s depth on the interior and lack of experience at tackle, he moved to left tackle as a junior where he started every game of the 2011 season, winning another national title while taking home the Outland Trophy and being named a consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC performer individually.

Finally, as a senior in 2012, he moved back inside and started every game of the 2012 season at center, where he’d originally been recruited to play.

By the time he called it a career, he’d played three entire seasons at three different positions, had three national championships, took home the Outland Trophy, the Rimington Trophy (for the nation’s top center) and was a two-time consensus All-American.

Bonus Fact: Jones graduated with a 4.0 in Accounting in 2011 and received his Master’s degree by the time he left Alabama in 2012.
