After redshirting in 2012 behind E.J. Manuel, Winston took over as starting quarterback under Jimbo Fisher in 2013.

During his first season as a starter, all Winston did was win 14 games including the BCS National Title while completing 66.9 percent of his passes for 4,057 yards and 40 touchdowns. Along with a national championship trophy, he became the first freshman to win the Heisman, Walter Camp and Davey O’Brien.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2014, he led Florida State to the first four-team College Football Playoff. They came up short, losing to Oregon in the semifinals but finished the season with a 13-1 record. Winston threw for just over 3,900 yards over the course of the season but he was nowhere near as efficient as the season before, throwing only 25 touchdowns and 18 interceptions — 15 fewer touchdowns and eight more interceptions than he’d thrown the season before.

Winston finished his career with a record of 26-1, 7,964 passing yards, 65 touchdown passes and another seven touchdowns on the ground.

Bonus Fact: Winston became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2013.
