Hopefully, Manziel two slides ago served as a nice warm-up for Lamar Jackson at No. 17.

Jackson started at quarterback for three seasons under Bobby Petrino from 20015 through 2017. Over those three years, he led the Cardinals to three bowl appearances, three straight winning seasons and a 25-14 record. And speaking of records, Jackson set more than a couple. He became the youngest Heisman winner ever in 2016 after passing for 3,543 yards, rushing for 1,571 and totaling 51 touchdowns.

He followed up 2012 by throwing and running for more yards as a junior in 2017 and finished third in the Heisman race behind Baker Mayfield and Bryce Love. Because it’s easier just to list everything out, here is what else he did at Louisville:

  • Career passing yards – 9,043
  • Career rushing yards – 4,132
  • Games with 400+ yards of total offense – 13
  • Games with 4+ touchdowns – 15
  • Most yards in a single game – 610 (Syracuse, 2016)
  • Most touchdowns in a single game – 8 (Charlotte, 2016)
  • Became the only player in NCAA history with 3,000+ passing yards/1,000+ rushing yards in consecutive seasons
  • 3rd player in NCAA history to throw and rush for 50 touchdowns

Bonus Facts: I used all my stats above, but I can tell you Jackson prefers burgers over tacos, Martin is his favorite TV show and he likes cats more than dogs.
