X Games prime time Saturday night kicked off with the BMX dirt final. Here are the results from the high flying event.

The BMX dirt event is all-action. The riders jump into the drop in ramp, hit three dirt jumps and close out on a quarter pipe. The rider who can put together the best, most technical run takes home X Games gold.

Logan Martin was the man to beat after the first round. He kicked off his run with a huge front flip into the drop in and wrapped up with a 720 bar spin on the final jump into a huge flare on the quarter pipe. His 94.00 led after round 1, with Brian Fox and Colton Walker rounding out the top three.

The cash roll, backflip, flare, and triple tail whip were staples of the competition. It was clear that this was going to come down to style and a risk/reward mentality. Go big and get creative.

The second run ended up being a throw away for most. Brian Fox, Brandon Loupos, Kyle Baldock and Pat Casey all missed jumps on run 2 and put everything on the line for the third and final run.

Daniel Sandoval tried to throw down a 360 triple tailwhip to end his final run but he missed the landing. It was clear that this third round was a go-for-broke mentality for the riders. Leandro Moreiera’s run was no different. He popped his back tire before hitting the quarter pipe and still threw down a big flare.

Bradon Loupos went huge on run 3, with a cash roll, triple tail whip and a flare double tailwhip on the quarter pipe to put him into first place with a massive 95.00. It’s probably worth mentioning that his bike was stolen prior to the event. Insane.

Logan Martin put down a quad tailwhip and flare downside tailwhip in his final run but it wasn’t enough to move him out of second place. It all came down to the final run and defending champion Colton Walker had a chance to win it.

Walker missed on his second jump and solidified the win for Australian Brandon Loupos.

BMX Dirt final results

  1. Brandon Loupos – 95.00
  2. Logan Martin – 94.00
  3. Brian Fox – 92.33

Here are the full results from the BMX dirt competition.

Highlights

Mike Varga ended his first run with a dirty 900 bar spin.

Brian Fox was all smiles before he went 720 to double back flip to kick off his first run. This run put him into second place after the first round.

Kyle Baldock wasn’t ecstatic about his first run. A slight tap on the first landing as well as a bit of a wobble at the end left him annoyed after this otherwise flawless first run.

Logan Martin threw down a massive quad tailwhip but clipped the landing on the next ramp.

Once again, Brandon Loupos’ championship run. Absolutely massive jumps with insane tricks and combinations. Loupos definitely earned the gold medal.
