1. Will they make more moves?

There were a lot of rumors that New York was going to be open for more business in the summer due to the rebuild that they’re starting and so far, not much has happened. That doesn’t mean that they won’t come during training camp or during the season, the latter being more likely. They’re not expected to be a playoff team this season so that means they’ll be sellers again at the trade deadline next year.

One of the big names that have been rumored out there at times is Mats Zuccarello who will be a free agent next year. He’d be a rental on any team most likely and New York would get a pretty nice return for him as he’d be one of the top forwards on the market.

There were also some rumors this offseason that New York was looking to potentially dangle Kevin Hayes as he’s a restricted free agent. He has the ability to put up over 50 points in a season considering he had 25 goals and 44 points last season. He’s not far off and he’s also still just 26 so he has some time.

No matter what happens, New York will likely look to be active throughout the offseason and going into the season as they look like a team that’s on the outside looking in right now.
