16. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Second-year Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is one of the most intriguing storylines in the NFL heading into the 2018 season. Kansas City paid a king’s ransom to move up to select him in the 2017 draft, and after shipping Alex Smith off to Washington, Mahomes is the new man in charge.

Mahomes has had the benefit of sitting on the bench for an entire year to learn the Chiefs system, but we won’t be able to fully see how prepared he is as a starter until we hit the regular season.

He possesses some of the best physical attributes of any young quarterback and aside from wunderkind Josh Allen, may already have some of the best arm strength in the entire league at the position.

Time will tell whether Mahomes is ready for the cornhole spotlight, as he still lacks NFL game experience, but don’t be surprised if he’s near the top of our highly-scientific, peer-reviewed list come this time next year.
