14. Alex Smith, Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins paid a rather hefty price to acquire Alex Smith from the Chiefs, opting to let former starter Kirk Cousins walk on over to the Minnesota Vikings via free agency.

Smith is consistent but not flashy with his game, making him a solid candidate for competition on the cornhole pitch. Just when you think you’ve seen the last of him, BOOM! Another beanbag right through the hole.

Another factor working in Smith’s favor? He played his college ball under Urban Meyer at Utah, who apparently now uses cornhole as a recruiting tactic, according to this 247Sports piece from 2014:

"“They said (Urban) Meyer is about family and I could tell that,” Himes said on Sunday. “We played cornhole. I got the best of Meyer. He won’t admit it but that’s alright.”"

As they say, to be the best you must learn from the best cornhole recruiters. With a strong debut season in Washington, Smith could very well make his way towards the top of our list.
