Ranking NFL quarterbacks on their potential cornhole talents
By Conor Dorney
10. Eli Manning, New York Giants
No athlete in professional sports history has looked like more of a ringer for whatever sport they happen to play than Eli Manning. Manning has won two Super Bowl rings and will go down as one of the greatest Giants in history, yet his face always looks like he just finished a seven-hour World of Warcraft session two inches from the screen.
After the debacle with former head coach Ben McAdoo that led to a brief benching last season, Manning is ready to prove he’s not over the hill on the football field or the cornhole pitch. At 37 years of age, Manning has the added benefit of heading into the season with low expectations but a wealth of offensive weapons. Having a chip on your shoulder is a major key to success on both the football field and cornhole pitch, something that the Last Manning Standing will be eager to prove in 2018.
There are positive signs for Manning this season as well, according to this piece on NJ.com:
"During what was arguably his strongest performance of the offseason, Manning put on a show and hit every target as wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, tight end Evan Engram, and running back Saquon Barkley all benefited from Manning’s accuracy and at times his arm strength on the deep-ball."
Hitting every target and putting on a show? At all levels of the field? It’s clear that Eli Manning is ready to step into the spotlight of cornhole glory this season.
