Robertson and Abdul-Jabbar slingshotted the Bucks to the mountain top and the Bucks have been fighting like hell to get back ever since.
Don Nelson led gutsy and insanely competitive teams into the playoffs in nine of his 10 seasons at the helm. Moncrief, Terry Cummings, and Marques Johnson punched above their weight but they simply didn’t have the Larry Bird or Julius Erving needed to advance. Transcendent talents are hard to come by apparently.
Allen and the Bucks were one game away from blowing up Allen Iverson’s legacy in 2001.
And who could forget, “Bucks in 6.”
Today, the Bucks might just have the best player in the Eastern Conference. Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and the guys may have an opportunity to really contend under Coach Mike Budenholzer going forward.
