Michael Jordan the player, the competitor, and the brand icon vastly trumps Jordan the owner. The Hornets are lost without a paddle. The franchise has struggled to find consistency and has only made the playoffs in back-to-back years twice in their history. In fairness, the franchise is young but the current core doesn’t inspire confidence.
Talent came and went: Rice, Al Jefferson, Eddie Jones, Johnson, and Mourning but the Hornets have been unable to sustain a core of substance at any point over their 28 years of life.
Mitch Kupchak has his work cut out for him.
