The Nuggets have seen some of the league’s best wing scorers come and go in Anthony, English, Thompson, and VanDeWeghe, none of whom were able to elevate the franchise to greatness.
The Nuggets have pivoted, now looking to build around Jokic. The young playmaking big-man plays a different brand of basketball but sacrifices nothing on offense. Armed with a payroll that the royal family would wince at, the Nuggets hope they’ve got a recipe for success this season.
The Nuggets haven’t won a playoff series since 2009 and prior to that hadn’t won one since 1994! However, this might be the most talented squad they’ve had on paper since English, Lever, and Dan Issel were hooping in the McNichols Sports Arena.
