The expectation for Mitchell Trubisky in his first season in the NFL was that he was going to sit behind Mike Glennon for a year. However, Glennon proved to be a terrible choice as the starter for the Chicago Bears, and Trubisky was thrust into action early in his NFL career.

While Trubisky did not set the world on fire during his first season, he did show that he has the talent to be a legitimate starting quarterback in the league. The Bears made sure they got him during the 2017 NFL Draft, moving up only one spot via a trade with the San Francisco 49ers to grab him at No. 2 overall.

This offseason, the Bears have done a nice job putting pieces around him, as he really had no weapons to speak of last season. The Bears brought in Allen Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars, and with Kevin White finally healthy, Chicago could have some solid weapons on the outside for him to throw to.

Trubisky has the arm to make every throw in this league, and he runs a 4.6 40-yard dash, which is pretty fast for a guy his size. There is a reason the Bears traded up to get him in the draft despite him not starting too many games at North Carolina, and with a revamped offense, he is going to show the league why.

The Bears not only have a bunch of new weapons on offense, but also an offensive-minded head coach in Matt Nagy, who replaces John Fox this season. All of the dominoes appear to be in place for Trubisky, who now has to go out there and prove himself.
