Colorado Rockies

During the 2017 Major League Baseball season, the Colorado Rockies finally burst their way back into postseason baseball. New manager Bud Black took over a pretty solid roster, and led his team to a third place finish in the NL West, which was good enough to win one of the Wild Card spots.

Though they lost in the Wild Card round to the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Rockies were back to playing winning baseball, and with a young roster, have been solid again in 2018. The Rockies sit only one game out of first place in the NL West as of July 31, but there is a lot of season left to play.

During the trade deadline, the Rockies made only one significant trade, but it did help to bolster their bullpen for the stretch run. Colorado traded away first baseman Chad Spanberger and second baseman Forest Wall to the Toronto Blue Jays for reliever Seunghwan Oh.

Oh burst onto the scene as a 33-year old rookie for the St. Louis Cardinals back in 2016, posting a 1.92 earned run average in 76 games. In that span, he saved 19 games for the Cardinals, and would then go on to save 20 more the following season, although he saw a big rise in his earned run average.

The 2018 season was his first in the American League, but he seemed to have found the magic he had in 2016. he posted a 2.68 earned run average in 48 games North of the Border. He will be a fantastic addition to the Rockies bullpen.
