2. Ryan Sessegnon, Fulham

Few young players generated as much excitement in the English game last season as Ryan Sessegnon. Still just 18, the dynamic forward tore through defenses with ease thanks to a combination of pace, trickery and bravado sure to leave rival managers green with envy.

Fortunately, Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic knows exactly how to use the golden boy of his team. Sessegnon is the player the Cottagers’ intricate passing between the lines is geared to release in behind.

The fact Sessegnon got free often enough to score 16 times last season is a testament not only to his athleticism, but also his mind for the game. There’s a natural instinct for how and when to time his runs from the left.

Sessegnon also has the vision and intelligence to be almost as prolific a provider as he is a goalscorer. He supplied eight assists as Fulham gained promotion through the play-offs.

Now Premier League audiences will anticipate seeing more magic from the brightest young thing in English soccer.
