7. Everton

Everton’s home kit is beautiful, with its striking shade of blue and the Umbro diamonds adorning the sleeves. It’s a look that blends a modern fit with a classic design to create one of Everton’s best kits in a very long time. It would be a kit fit for a world-class team, but there’s one small problem.

For some inexplicable reason, Everton decided to slap “Angry Birds” on the sleeve in full decorative font. Everton showed how behind the times they were last season when they signed Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott. Adding a mobile game that hasn’t been popular in half a decade to your kits certainly isn’t a forward-looking decision.

Everton beat a team 22-0 wearing these kits, so they may be good luck despite the piece of ancient app store history on the sleeve.

The away kit is a fun mix of grey, black and hot pink. Pink isn’t a color you think of when you think about the Toffees, but it somehow works. The pink is a nice contrast with the darker grey and black, and it makes for a striking kit that’s sure to turn heads.

Everton won only three of their games away from Goodison Park last season, so maybe they should be applauded for trying something different. This is Everton’s second season with SportPesa as their main shirt sponsor, and it’s still taking some getting used to. Still, it’s not another online betting company, so it could be worse, right?

All things considered, Everton should look good on TV. We can’t say the same for that horrible, horrible Angry Birds logo.
