Electronic Arts and supporters of hockey alike should really appreciate players who are willing to do everything for their team. It’s hard to find players who come with a bonus in all areas of the ice; usually, some of the best are brilliant in one area and are forgotten in other aspects of the game.

Benn is probably the best example of a player who can do a whole lot and more. He’s loyal to the Dallas Stars and his consistent leadership skills are almost unmatched.

Benn’s capabilities involve scoring, hitting, fighting, defensive work in all zones and great skating and puck handling skills. There’s not a lot that Benn can’t do. The 29-year-old is versatile, and the Stars have appreciated that for many years.

Last season was no different from Benn. Another full season under his belt allowed the forward to amass 36 goals and 43 assists. Furthermore, Benn contributed 10.3 point shares, a plus-20 and seven game-winning goals.

Benn does a lot in the community, too. In late June, Benn participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in the Greater Dallas region. The Victoria born winger paired with Mike Modano to announce the Stars’ first round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. He shows constant desire to be a leader all throughout the organization.

Benn is a role model for young players, both on and off the ice. Putting him on the cover of NHL 20 would be a solid reminder as to what makes Benn one of the top players in the NHL right now.
