The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the New Orleans Saints in Week 1 of the preseason Thursday night. Here is how to watch this NFL exhibition game online.

With a dozen NFL games on tap for the evening of August 9, one game that stands out is the New Orleans Saints on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams are coming off double-digit win 2017 season and poised for yet another run at a similar goal.

The Jaguars came oh-so-close to defeating the New England Patriots to go to the Super Bowl and the Saints made it to the divisional round before losing on the legendary catch, run and touchdown by Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

In a league with a few solid starting quarterbacks, pass rush was super important for the Saints to continue to improve. They did so with defensive end Marcus Davenport in the first round of the draft.

While we’re not sure how much he’ll play in this game, we will get to see the backup quarterbacks, Taysom Hill and Tom Savage go at it, making for an interesting duel for the spot to back up fellow quarterback Drew Brees as he goes on one of his final quests for a Lombardi trophy.

For the Jaguars, it will be important to keep an eye on wide receiver D.J. Chark, the second-round pick out of LSU who has a ton of speed, but has the pass-catching ability to make an impact in his rookie season on a depth chart that is filled with a lot of youth and the lack of a clear-cut No. 1 receiver.

In addition to Chark, continuing to see the development of strong-side linebacker Leon Jacobs will be a sight to behold. He’s currently slated as the starter, according to Mike Kaye of First Coast News.

Kaye notes that it’s the seventh-round rookie’s job to lose, and the defense of that position starts in Week 1 of the preseason.
