11. Myles Turner: Star Wars Lego

When Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner was growing up, his parents were strict with his time in front of the television. Turner kept busy the same way many of us did growing up, by using our imaginations and playing with Legos.

Turner was allowed to watch movies as well, and when his mother Mary gifted him the Star Wars trilogy, he quickly fell in love with the movies. To this day, Turner’s love for Lego, specifically of the Star Wars variety, lives on.

During a day off last winter, Turner and his roommate and friend Corey Carter built a 2000 piece Star Destroyer. Turner also owns the Death Star and Millennium Falcon sets, among others. His Lego collection is probably worth more than my life.

On the court, the young Turner and his Pacers are building chemistry like a team putting Lego sets together. The Pacers only benefit from LeBron James heading West this summer, as they are now likely the third or fourth best team in the East.

Turner’s stat line took a slight dip last season. His points per game average was 12.7 and he grabbed 6.7 rebounds per game, down from 14.5 ppg and 7.3 rpg in 2016-17. Miles is only 21 years old and entering his third season. He’s only going to get better from here on out.

Even with his young age in mind, the stat drop was likely due to the team as a whole being better and working well as a single unit after the departure of Paul George. They’ll look to build on that success, much like Turner builds his Star Wars Lego sets, next season.
