13. Rudy Gobert: Pokémon Go

Rudy Gobert is a massive, shot-blocking machine who dominates the paint for the Utah Jazz. The massive Frenchman won defensive player of the year honors this past season and looks to continue his dominance alongside fellow Jazz star Donovan Mitchell and Joe Ingles (the athlete of all athletes).

Off the court, Gobert was as obsessed as the rest of us when Pokémon Go came out in 2016. (It was a simpler time, wasn’t it?) Wait. Correction: On the court, Gobert was obsessed with the game.

That’s right, Gobert sent his time on the bench during a summer league game catching wild Spearows. It was summer league, so none of this really matters, but it goes to show exactly how much of a “craze” Pokémon Go was. To be fair, he did say he was watching the game.

Gobert and the Jazz are a very fun team that suffer from not only having to play in the stacked Western Conference, but having to play in Utah. His 20 point, 12 board, 4 block games are rarely televised and there’s a next-to-nothing change the Jazz make it out of the first round of the playoffs in the near future.

Despite not seeing him at all on television, Gobert is a great Twitter follow. He frequently takes the time to troll fellow players and teammates.

Can we move the Utah Jazz to the Eastern Conference please? We could all use some more Rudy G in our lives.
