15. Honorary Mentions

Rather than pick one final singular pop culture-obsessed athlete, we’re going to cop out and close out with mentioning a few more favorites. There are probably hundreds that could have made this list, but here are a few that share the No. 15 spot.

JT Brown: Fortnite

Brown plays more Fortnite than you do. Recently, he played in a 24-hour Fortnite marathon to raise money for the “Hockey Is For Everyone” charity. Unfortunately for his wife Lexi who was in charge of watching over his newborn baby for the night, he also gets as angry as we do when losing at the game.

Us: Very Cavallari

Who knew this show, of all of the reality shows, would take off? To further that question, who knew that Jay Cutler would end up being the star? It seems even Kristin Cavallari had no idea her husband would shine on television, but he does and we love this new reality show.

Lindsey Vonn: Sharks

US Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn was recently featured in Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” to promote her love of some of these endangered animals. Sharks are amazing, and shark week is a great tool used by Discovery as an effort to bring awareness to some of the troubles they are dealing with internationally.

While there are many celebrities involved with shark week, no one can doubt that Vonn’s love for sharks tops them all.

As you can see, these athletes are more relatable than they seem on television. Next time you see your favorite athlete competing and you start thinking about how wild and crazy his or her life might be, just remember that at the end of the day, they’re probably doing the same things you are: Gaming, watching their favorite shows and movies, eating bad food and yelling about the return of the shotgun on Fortnite.

When it comes to pop culture, these pro athletes are just like the rest of us.
