4. Cardiff, Fulham and Wolves all win first match

Every year, three newly-promoted teams are faced with the incredibly difficult task of trying to stay in the Premier League. This year those sides are Cardiff, Fulham and Wolves — all teams that have played in the top tier of English soccer in the recent past.

That suggests that these sides may be better equipped to remain in the division than club’s who’ve never played in the Premier League before. However, the likes of Huddersfield and Brighton showed last season that past experience doesn’t matter too much by staying up at the first time of asking.

On the opening weekend, each of the newly-promoted sides have very winnable games. This doesn’t mean they’ll be easy matches, but it does mean all these sides could start their Premier League campaigns off in the best way.

Neil Warnock’s robust Cardiff travel to Bournemouth in a match, Fulham host Crystal Palace and Wolves face Everton in Saturday’s late kickoff.

These are great opening-day fixtures for all three sides. With the extra high that tends to accompany a newly-promoted sides first match back in the top flight, they can finish matchweek 1 on three points.
