During his time at Davidson Day School in North Carolina, quarterback Will Grier established himself as the best quarterback in the entire country. In fact, he was the USA’s Mr. Football for the 2013 season, and when he committed to Florida, they had to think they hit the lotto.

After a redshirt season to start his college career, Grier looked to be every bit as good as the team could have hoped for when he took over as the starting quarterback. However, he tested positive for PEDs, was suspended for a year, and transferred out of the program to make a clean start somewhere else.

That somewhere else was West Virginia, and after sitting out a year due to the NCAA’s transfer rules, he became the team’s starting quarterback in 2017. All he did in year one was play so well that he was the Big 12’s Newcomer of the Year, after throwing for nearly 3,500 yards and 36 touchdowns.

With an incredible season on his resume, many expected that Grier would take his talents to the NFL, where he would likely have been drafted in the early rounds. However, he is back with the Mountaineers for his senior season, and as the preseason Conference Player of the Year, and First-team quarterback, there will be plenty of eyes on him this Fall.
