No. 4 – Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints narrowly missed out on the NFC Championship game. That team was extremely efficient on offense led by the passing attack. Brees threw 23 touchdown passes and eight interceptions. The Saints also had a great rushing attack with the duo of Melvin Ingram and Alvin Kamara, who won offensive rookie of the year in 2018. On all accords, the Saints offense has a chance to be even better than last season.

This offseason, the team signed Benjamin Watson. Despite his age, Watson is an incredible red zone target, pulling down four touchdowns on 61 receptions last season with the Ravens. With this addition along with Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn Jr., Brees will likely have a lot of passing yards.

The Saints are also playing in a very competitive division. It seems possible that Brees will get in shootouts with the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers in close game situations. Brees is set to have a big year in fantasy football this season.

No. 3 – Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers

The Panthers had a very good season last year. Unfortunately, they play against the Saints twice a season. Cam Newton is the heart and soul of the offense. Newton has also proven to be an incredible talent. In 2015, he won the Most Valuable Player Award. However, he has not shown the same passing talent since winning that award.

Last season he threw 16 interceptions and possessed a passer rating of 80.7. However, Newton dominated fantasy points on the ground. He finished 2017 with six rushing touchdowns on 754 rushing yards. While many don’t expect Newton to have the same success on the ground,  he will look better passing the football.

With Norv Turner as the Panthers new offensive coordinator and Greg Olsen’s return from injury, Newton’s passing ability will likely look closer to the 2015 season than that of last year. Expect a big fantasy year for the Panthers quarterback entering his eighth year.
