What your summer basketball jersey says about you
Current stars
It’s a wonderful time for the NBA. The league is full of talent like never before. The draft, free agency, and summer league have made NBA basketball a year-round sport. Social media has brought fans closer to the lives of players than ever. We know more about some NBA superstars than we know about some of our own family members. The choice to wear a jersey from a current star doesn’t just tell the world you love their game, it tells the world you love who they are.
James Harden: You trust yourself, your own abilities, and you’re willing to bide your time until the right situation comes along for you.
Russell Westbrook: If the right situation doesn’t present itself, you’ll do whatever it takes to turn your own situation into the right one. Square pegs don’t typically fit in round holes, but that’s not going to stop you from trying to jam it in there.
Anthony Davis: You try to stay positive, but something deep down inside you questions if it will all work out. On the first day of summer, you get a little sad that it’s going to start getting darker a little bit earlier every day from now on.
Joel Embiid: You spend way too much time on Twitter. You’re what they would call “extremely online.” If somebody saw you in the jersey and decided to yell “trust the process!” at you, you’d probably scold them if they didn’t also “say the name.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo: You think you’re making a unique choice that’s going to set you apart, but when you show up at the cookout, three other people are going to be wearing the same thing as you. It’s okay, though, you all have great taste. You should laugh about it and become friends. All three of you are probably very nice people with a lot in common.
Kyrie Irving: If somebody talks to you long enough, the word “fleeced” will definitely be spoken. The more you talk, the more you’ll talk about Danny Ainge. The more alcohol you drink the more the people you’re talking to will start to think you’re in romantic love with Danny Ainge. You would rather not talk about this year’s Super Bowl.
