16. USC Trojans – Cameron Smith, LB

The Trojans come into 2018 a much different team than last season. Losing Sam Darnold and Ronald Jones raise major questions on the offensive side of the ball. The only quarterback with game reps last season was Matt Fink, and he only attempted nine passes.

The offense may struggle with finding their identity with so much turnover. Even the defense has holes they need young guys to fill. Losing their top two sack leaders, Uchenna Nwosu and Rasheem Green will be a tough pill to swallow.

Porter Gustin is still around, but he is once again sidelined with a knee injury. One spot on the defense has its leader to make the jump in 2018. Cameron Smith enters his senior season as the most valuable player to USC. He recorded 112 total tackles last season, 11 of which were tackles for loss.

He is the man patrolling the second level of the defense and figures to be just as productive in 2018. Smith will be the leader on that defense and one of the leaders for the Trojans this season and needs to stay healthy if the Trojans have a chance.
