25. Arkansas State Red Wolves – Justice Hansen, QB

It may seem odd to see a smaller school in the preseason top 25, especially a team that only won seven games last season, but the Arkansas State Red Wolves have plenty to be excited about heading into 2018.

The defense may take a hit in 2018, especially after losing Javon Rolland-Jones to the NFL. His 19 tackles for loss and 13 sacks will be missed, but other guys will have to pick up the slack.

The good news is that the offense is returning major pieces that led them to 495 yards per game in 2017. They should be primed to match and possibly exceed that number in 2018. All of that could change, though, if they lose their most valuable player, Justice Hansen.

Anytime a quarterback accounts for 44 total touchdowns in a season, he instantly becomes their most valuable player. Hansen threw for nearly 4000 yards in 2017, tossed 37 touchdowns, and actually led the team in rushing touchdowns.

If any improvements were to be made by Hansen this season, it would be to cut back on the turnovers. His 16 interceptions in 2017 are just too high of a number. He needs to put up gaudy numbers once again to keep the Red Wolves relevant in 2018.
