3. Ohio State Buckeyes – Nick Bosa, DE

The best player isn’t always the most valuable player, but in this case, it’s true. The Buckeyes boast talent up and down the roster, so it’s difficult to pinpoint where the team would struggle should someone go down.

They have a new quarterback this season in Dwayne Haskins, and he will have plenty of help this season, especially on the ground. Mike Weber and J.K. Dobbins will be the driving forces on offense. The offensive line consistently reloads in Columbus.

The defense is very deep as well, but Ohio State did lose pass rushers to the draft. All this points to Nick Bosa as the most valuable player for the Buckeyes. Without Bosa, the pass rush isn’t nearly as dominant. Bosa was only a sophomore last season, and he still led the Buckeyes in sacks with eight and a half.

The Buckeyes lost their second best rusher in terms of production from last season, so more pressure falls on Bosa in 2018. Bosa is ready to become the guy on the edge. Expect Bosa to show that he is the best pass rusher in the nation this season and to enjoy a jump in his numbers.
