Bruce Bowen goes after Kawhi Leonard (again) and Clippers after firing
By Kareem Gantt
Bruce Bowen had a lot more to say about the Kawhi Leonard situation, and have also gone after his former employers, the Clippers, in a recent interview.
Bruce Bowen wants everyone to know that he meant every letter he said about Kawhi Leonard, and now, he is setting his aim on a new target — the Los Angeles Clippers.
Bowen has reason to be a tad bit salty toward the Clippers. After he went on Sirus XM radio to let his thoughts be known on how Leonard treated his former team, the San Antonio Spurs, the Clippers and Fox Sports West decided not to renew his contract for this upcoming season.
To put it another way, Mr. Bow Tie got canned.
Well, not too long after he was fired by the Clippers, Bowen went on the Dan Patrick Show and let his feelings known about both Leonard (again) and his previous employers.
Let’s begin with Leonard because this is personal for Bowen.
When Patrick asked if he would build a team around Leonard, he told the him “No,” like, in an “I wouldn’t even want to fight zombies with this dude” way.
"There’s no way that you can say without having some type of doubt that I would want to be in a bunker with Kawhi when he doesn’t want to support his teammates. Now, you get in that bunker with Tim Duncan, because you know he’s there, and if you’re a go-to-guy, this is what’s required."
Ouch!
Oh, and he had words about the Clippers as well, which he added:
"Kawhi never said he wanted to play for the Clippers. He said he wanted to play for the Lakers and unfortunatley, you’re going to run your organization based on hopes, maybe, and getting rid of others"
Yep, Mr. Bow Tie is not holding back, at all.
