WWE SummerSlam 2018: Preview and predictions

RAW Women’s Championship Match
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Ronda Rousey
It’s certainly no surprise that Ronda Rousey is in a RAW Women’s Championship Match at SummerSlam. She’s a huge mainstream draw, the kind that Vince loves for these big events, and this whole thing has been so much better than I could have imagined. Ronda is loving her time in WWE and has picked things up so quickly. She’s got the crowds with her and her in-ring work continues to improve each and every week.
As for Alexa Bliss, she continues to be perfect in just about everything she’s doing right now. There’s a reason that she’s been the center of this division on Monday nights, holding the title for close to 400 combined days since winning her first RAW Women’s Championship at the end of April last year. Her character is flawless, and she’s made every feud she’s been in feel important, including this one. Her facial expressions and mannerisms in showing fear toward Ronda’s wrath have been phenomenal, but she’s still gotten her fair share of licks in there also. Her cash-in at Money in the Bank was done to perfection, and she really has been a fantastic heel champion. I can’t say enough good things about her.
Prediction: It’s coronation time, kids. This is the second-biggest show of the year, and even though she’s still pretty fresh, this is going to be Ronda Rousey’s night. The story has been told nicely with the cash-in, the suspension and the build since she returned, including a fun match with Alicia Fox in her debut bout on Monday Night RAW. Some may feel that she’s not ready for this spot just yet, and there obviously is a lot of fun in watching a chase, but with this big show and big spotlight, Ronda Rousey leaves Brooklyn with some gold. Also, look on the bright side. Alexa loses and then gets her rematch next month inside the confines of Hell in a Cell. Who doesn’t want to watch that?
