Manchester City beat Arsenal 2-0 in their opening match of the Premier League with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva scoring the goals. Pep Guardiola’s side wasn’t as sharp as they usually look, which is to be expected this early in the season, but had little trouble with the Gunners, which is scary to think about. City are the favorites to win the league again, but will be focused on the Champions League title as well. Their early schedule hardly could be more favorable, as they face last year’s promoted teams and this year’s promoted teams in succession. It would be very surprising if they don’t have seven wins to begin the season.
Huddersfield got off to a rocky start to their second straight Premier League season, losing 3-0 to Chelsea at home. The Terriers only registered one shot on target all match and generally looked deeply over-matched in every part of the pitch. That wouldn’t be worrying if Chelsea wasn’t working through a new system or if David Wagner was integrating new signings into the side. It’s going to be a tough time staying up for Huddersfield yet again.
