Houston Texans – Brandon Weeden

When Deshaun Watson went down to a season-ending injury in 2017 the Texans’ offensive production left the field with him. If Watson goes down again this year, expect the offense to fall apart once again.

Bill O’Brien and company evidently see Brandon Weeden as a quality backup, but he’s done nothing in the NFL to merit that sort of status. The 34-year-old is lucky he’s still in the NFL at all. Having him as the insurance to one of the game’s most dynamic quarterbacks is front office malpractice.

Indianapolis Colts – Chester Rogers

Andrew Luck may be healthy this season and if he is, that will be a massive boost for the Colts. Ideally, they’d surround him with really dangerous weapons at wide receiver. Chester Rogers does not quality for that designation.

He’s just a boring wide receiver. He doesn’t possess great size or blistering speed. That’s why he hasn’t put up meaningful numbers in his career. The Colts could, and should get more out of their slot receiver position.

Jacksonville Jaguars – Blake Bortles

Bortles had his best season in 2017 but that’s really damning him with faint praise. Everything about the Jaguars screams Super Bowl team other than their very mediocre quarterback.

If he’s going to establish himself as an above average starter in the NFL he simply has to push the ball down the field more effectively. He gets tons of chances for big plays via play action, but he doesn’t hit enough of them to merit a starting job with such a talented team.

Tennessee Titans – Corey Davis

The Titans invested a lot of draft capital to bring Davis to Nashville. Unfortunately, injuries have made him a virtual non-factor in his professional career. The coaching staff is hoping he can get his career back on track in 2018.

He absolutely has the talent to be an above average weapon for Marcus Mariota, but he’s got to prove it on the field. Until he does, he is the team’s biggest weakness. They need a No. 1 receiver in the worst way and he’s come up well short so far.
