1. Errol Spence Jr. (24-0, 21 KOs)

This should not come as a surprise to anyone, as ‘The Truth’ looks almost indestructible right now.

He is one of the most avoided men in boxing, and with good reason. He claimed the IBF Championship when he went overseas and stopped Kell Brook, breaking his orbital bone. Going into that fight, many felt that Spence was a little too green to be facing someone of Brook’s caliber, but Spence was confident in himself and left a lasting impression on boxing fans.

His first title defense was against Lamont Peterson, where he demolished the veteran and confirmed to everyone that he was the real deal. If anyone was still unsure about Spence, the Peterson fight likely changed their opinions.

He has good technique, good power and does excellent work to the body. I’m not sure any of the PBC welterweights are too eager to face Spence, unless they were offered a large chunk of change.

The fight that every single boxing fan wants to see if Spence vs. Crawford. That is the true definition of a 50/50 fight, and a case can be made for either fighter. I for one slightly favor Spence because he is the natural welterweight, and Crawford has been hit before (see his fight with Gamboa). I can also see the fight playing out where Crawford outboxes Spence.

There is only one way to find out, and hopefully the two of them fight sooner rather than later.
