Boxing welterweight division rankings: Spence, Crawford top stacked weight class

6. Shawn Porter (28-2-1, 17 KOs)

This is the point in the list where there is a step up in class, all of the guys ranked from here on would be be favorites against the previous names mentioned.

Porter is one of the best pressure fighters in the sport, and while this often leads to sloppy fights, it is effective for him. He has shown a willingness to fight the best as well, something that can’t always be said in boxing today.

He was able to earn victories over Devon Alexander, Adrien Broner and Andre Berto, among others, which is why he has earned a ranking in the top six.

As for his two losses, one was when he lost to then-undefeated Kell Brook, who was a top three welterweight in the world at that time. As for the other loss, that came to Keith Thurman in a very close and competitive fight where Porter gave a good account for himself.

Porter would have a legit chance against anyone in the top five of the divison, and many will be picking him when he fights Danny Garcia next month.
