New York Giants – Lawrence Taylor

The New York Giants were established all the way back in 1925, and since then, have become an iconic franchise in the NFL. They have won a combined eight championships, four before the AFL-NFL merger, and four after, nabbing four Super Bowls in four separate decades.

New York won their first championship all the way back in 1927, about the same time the New York Yankees were dominating the baseball landscape. They followed up that title with three more before the merger, winning in 1934, 1938, and 1956.

The team’s first Super Bowl came back in 1986, when they beat the Denver Broncos 39-20. In 1990, they won their second title with Jeff Hostetler at quarterback, who was filling in for Pro Bowl signal-caller Phil Simms. In 2007 and 2011, Eli Manning led the Giants to their last two titles, winning the Super Bowl MVP in each game.

The throwback jersey to have when it comes to the Giants are those old blue jerseys they wore during their Super Bowl runs back in the eighties and nineties. Iconic players like Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson were dominating defenders for the G-Men, and both are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

After a terrible season in 2017, where the team only won three games, the Giants added some talent on both sides of the ball to make a run in 2018. They drafted Penn State running back Saquon Barkley No. 2 overall, and if he is the kind of player he is expected to be, he could join Taylor and Carson as iconic Giants when all is said and done.
