Best throwback jersey each NFL fan should buy

Washington Redskins – Darrell Green

The Washington Redskins used to make their home in Boston, and when the franchise was established back in 1932, they were actually known as the Boston Braves. They would change their name to  the Boston Redskins in 1933, and in 1937, they moved from Boston to the Washington area.

Before the NFL merger in 1970, the Redskins won two championships, winning in 1937, their first in Washington, and again in 1942. During the Super Bowl era, the Redskins have done a nice job winning the big game, taking home three Vince Lombardi Trophies in their franchise history.

The jerseys the Redskins wore back in the days of Doug Williams is the one to have, as it harkens fans back to the days when the Skins were the class of the NFC. Williams led the Redskins to a dominating victory over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII, and was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

The Alex Smith-era in Washington will begin in 2018, as he makes his move from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Nation’s Capital. Smith led the Chiefs to back-to-back AFC West titles in his last two seasons with the team, but he will have a bigger task ahead of him in D.C., as the Redskins are not projected to do much in the NFC East.

Throwback jerseys are seen in all stadiums every weekend, and for some older fans, it brings them back to a time when their team was either very good, or their favorite player still played for them. Each team in the NFL has a rich history, and while not all  teams have a Super Bowl ring, they all have one jersey that you just have to have.
