Week 3: Sept. 15 – USC vs. Texas (Austin, TX)

Week 3 of the college football schedule features plenty of big games. There are several great options for College GameDay to pick from depending on how the first couple weeks of the season go.

However, it’s always tough to pass up a former national championship game rematch, even if it was over a decade ago. Any time USC and Texas take the field against each other, it’s always a thrilling battle.

Last year, the Trojans and Longhorns played an incredible game that went into overtime. This season, they’re meeting in Austin, and it will be a chance for Tom Herman’s program to pick up a signature win. It’s also a chance for USC and a young quarterback to pick up a win on the road.

If this isn’t the choice here, Alabama travels to Ole Miss as well as a big battle in Dallas, between Ohio State and TCU will be in the mix. It wouldn’t be surprising to see either of those games picked to host the show.

However, if USC and Texas both come into Week 3 with each still maintaining a perfect record, then this seems like a great choice. Their history has proven to be worthy of a College GameDay appearance.
