Kyle Busch totally sent an ice cream truck to Martin Truex Jr. team to make up for Bristol wreck

Because ice cream really does make everything better, even in racing.

There definitely might still have been some lingering bad blood between two of Toyota’s finest NASCAR drivers, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr., after the latter wrecked the former during the Bristol night race two weekends to go. Now, we’re thinking all is forgiven thanks to the universal problem solver, ice cream.

Truex’s crew chief, Cole Pearn, alerted the world to the fact that Busch apparently sent over an ice cream truck for the entire 78 team to enjoy this week. As apologies go, this is a good one. Maybe even better than words.

Bonus points for Pearn feeling the need to let everyone know right off the bat that he was only kidding when he called Busch a “nice moron.”

The only problem now is whether or not this is going to become standard etiquette every time there’s an on-track run-in with one driver clearly at fault. Do you have to send a whole sundae bar if the wreck is especially egregious? What happens if the victimized party is a teammate and the collision cost both of you a shot at the win, something that just happened in the Truck Series playoff opener?

Ending the NASCAR season at Darlington sounds great but wouldn't work. dark. Next

Jokes aside, this proves two things: While it’s always fun to see tempers flare and look forward to heated confrontations, sometimes owning up to things and making them right can be equally entertaining. Also, and we’ve said this repeatedly, whether you root for him or against him, Kyle Busch has one heck of a sense of humor to go with his driving talent.
