If you’re looking to bet on this matchup there is not much of a favorite. Is a “Pick’em” matchup according to Bovada. These teams are close and the oddsmakers know it. Both teams feature question marks on offense and talented defenses. If it does come down to defense the Michigan Wolverines have more playmakers on the field that could get some points on their own.

Because of these talented defenses and questionable offenses it may seem hard to come around on betting the over with a line of 47. The under is the safer bet here, however, this series has had some crazy games. Five of the last seven meetings have had over 50 points scored. It is the opening week so the teams may not be as buttoned up defensively as they would like to be. If Notre Dame establish the ground game early or Shea Patterson can work magic throwing the ball it easily could turn into an offensive track meet.
