Loser: Miami Hurricanes (No. 8 down to No. 22)

Mark Richt knew he’d have some question marks surrounding the quarterback position in 2018, but he didn’t realize that Malik Rosier would have struggled quite this much against LSU.

Sure, LSU’s defense is perennially elite, but Miami couldn’t seem to gain any momentum. Plus, the Hurricanes were favored against the No. 25 Tigers. Rosier finished with just 259 yards and a touchdown, which isn’t terrible, but he had two interceptions and completed just 15-of-35 passes.

Miami has the talent to overcome this drastic drop in the rankings following a convincing defeat, but the Hurricanes still have to be considered big losers this week for dropping out of the top 10.

Does Richt stay with Rosier moving forward? His backup quarterback was suspended for this one, but he may be the better option. Rosier continued his struggles, but maybe we should see how he does against lesser defenses.

Miami has a lot of work to do and it’s not just on offense. This team got off to a less than ideal start and Richt has to put out some fires.
