Vegas likes the Eagles as a slight favorite

If Wentz was healthy and ready to go you would see a bigger line here. As it is, Oddshark.com only has the home team as a 2.5-point favorite in this game. The only reason Philadelphia is still the favorite with Foles at the controls is because they’re playing at home.

Don’t expect the Falcons to give the Eagles any sympathy without their starting quarterback. Dan Quinn needs to convince his team that this a prime opportunity to defeat the defending champions on their home field. Given how competitive the NFC South race should be in 2018, stealing a road win early could pay huge dividends for the Falcons later in the season.

Odds

Line: Philadelphia (-2.5)

Over/Under: 45.5

The home field advantage will mean something though. Expect an electric atmosphere in Philadelphia. The city is crazy over their team in normal seasons, but winning the Super Bowl last year will only turn up the excitement.

The oddsmakers are dead on to expect a close game here. It’s highly unlikely either of these teams is going to find a way to run away from their opponent. If you’re planning on watching this game, block out your schedule long enough to make sure you can watch it until the very end. Overtime isn’t out of the question in this one.
