The Denver Broncos had arguably the worst situation at the quarterback position in all of football last season. Over the course of the season, Denver had to trot out guys like Paxton Lynch, Trevor Siemian, and Brock Osweiler, all of whom are no longer on the active roster in Denver.

This offseason, John Elway knew he had to do something about the position, so he decided to dip into free agency and grab Case Keenum from the Minnesota Vikings. Last season, Keenum led the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game, and when it comes to the quarterback spot this year, he definitely gives the Broncos one of the biggest upgrades in the NFL.

While Keenum is a solid player, he has been mostly a career backup, and it will be interesting to see how he does going into the season as a starter. Lynch was drafted in the first round two years ago to be the franchise guy for the next 15 years, but he was cut this past weekend, ending his tenure with the team.

In the first round in April, the Broncos should look to add a real franchise quarterback, and Jarrett Stidham from Auburn is a guy who projects to be a starter in the league. Stidham has been through some serious battles in the SEC, has a tremendous arm, and plays with the kind of fearlessness that Elway loves to see out of his quarterbacks.
