2019 NFL Mock Draft: Bills land Nick Bosa at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
Heading into the 2018 NFL season, many people like the Los Angeles Chargers to come out of the AFC West as the division champions. To be fair, the roster is loaded on both sides of the ball, including at quarterback, where Philip Rivers continues to defy Father Time and be a very productive quarterback the NFL level.
Last season, the Chargers nearly shook off an 0-4 start to make it to the playoffs, though they did not get the help they needed in Week 17. Still, it was a very impressive performance by the team under first-year head coach Anthony Lynn, who showed that you do not need head coaching experience to turn your team into a winner at the NFL level.
With Rivers in place, there is no dire need for a quarterback, although the Chargers should start thinking about the future a bit. In the first round in 2019, there are going to be some solid quarterback to choose from, even late, where the Chargers figure to be picking if they live up to expectations this season.
Shea Patterson is the current starting quarterback at Michigan, although it took a long time for him to get there. He is the prototype NFL quarterback that teams are looking for, and playing under head coach Jim Harbaugh, a former Chargers quarterback, is only going to help him get better during his last season of college football.
