The Oakland Raiders have only one winning season in the last 15 years, and are coming off a six-win season in 2017. This past Saturday, they did the unthinkable, trading 27-year old star defensive end Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears, getting back two first rounders in return. Mack was in his prime, and one of the best in the business.

Because of that trade, the Raiders will pick twice in the first round next April, and their first pick should be spent on filling the void left by the Mack trade. The Raiders do have Bruce Irvin at one of the defensive end spots in 2018, and rookie Arden Key looks like a keeper, but replacing Mack will be almost impossible.

When it comes to edge rushers in this draft class, there is Nick Bosa, and everyone else. However, Rashan Gary from Michigan is a guy who can really get after the quarterback, and has the kind of athletic ability at the position that does not come around too often. He is going to go early in the draft, and the Raiders will be lucky to get him.

It will be a couple years before we really know how the Mack trade will play out, but Gary is a guy who can really get the edge, and teaming him long-term with Arden Key would give the Raiders a dominant tandem. Gary is going to go early in the draft, and based on the Raiders roster entering the season, they could be picking in the top-10 once again.
