3. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are near the top of the list of teams favored to sign Le’Veon Bell next offseason. Why not speed up the process and get him on board now?

Indianapolis has been blessed with Hall of Fame-level quarterback play for the majority of the past 20 seasons. For most of that time, though, they haven’t had a great running game. Since 2006, the Colts have had just two 1,000-yard rushers — Joseph Addai (two times) and Frank Gore.

Part of this issue has been Indy’s offensive line struggles, but the Colts have spent their last two first round draft picks on interior lineman — so the group is slowly improving.

It is not in the shape of Pittsburgh’s current line, but surely Bell is fine playing anyway as long as he gets paid. Playing on turf inside and divisional games in Tennessee, Houston, and Jacksonville should also appeal to Bell when compared to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Cincinnati.

Indianapolis doesn’t have as much capital as other teams to deal Pittsburgh, unless they are willing to give up good draft picks. With so many holes on the defensive end, that probably wouldn’t be wise. But a Luck-Bell-TY Hilton offensive core, alongside an improving line and solid tight end group, would make Indianapolis one of the better offenses in the league.
