Montreal Canadiens

While the Montreal Canadiens struggled last season, the Canadiens do have some star power on its roster and some that are still searching for a Stanley Cup championship.

For starters, there’s Shea Weber who is one of the more established dynamic defenseman of the modern hockey era since he joined the league back in 2005-06.

Yet, the Canadiens’ top player that has yet to win a Stanley Cup is between the pipes with goaltender, Carey Price.

There was concern about Price when he first entered the league back in 2007-08 and whether or not he would live up to his expected potential. However, after three seasons the former fifth-overall selection (2005) silenced his critics when he won 38 games in 2010-11.

Now, Price is labeled as a top three, if not the best, NHL goaltender. In 2014-15, Price earned his first Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goaltender, and also recorded a career high 44 wins. While the Canadiens have struggled, and Price has been snake bitten by injuries since that time, he still goes down as the Habs’ best player in need of a Cup.

While the Canadiens haven’t reached a Stanley Cup Final since 1993, Price has had some solid postseason performance for the Canadiens. In eight of his separate postseason appearances, Price has posted a save-percentage of .920 or higher on three occasions.
