Well, Daniel and Henrik Sedin are no longer eligible to make a list such as this one, and the twins will go down as two of the greatest NHL players to never win a Stanley Cup.

So, with a rebuilding Vancouver Canucks squad entering 2019, which player goes down as Vancouver’s current and best skater that’s never won a Stanley Cup?

Veteran forward, Loui Eriksson, goes down as the Canucks’ top skater that’s still searching for his first Stanley Cup ring. Eriksson, 33, has spent 12 seasons in the NHL while skating for the Dallas Stars (2006-2013), Boston Bruins (2013-2016) and has spent the past two seasons in Western Canada’s most beautiful city.

While his offensive numbers took a significant dive since joining Vancouver, the Swedish native still makes the cut for this list. His prior success and experience outweighed other skaters on the team’s roster such as defenseman and fellow countryman, Alexander Edler.

The former second-round draft pick (2003) has notched 233 career goals onto his belt and tallied 318 assists for 551 career points. From 2009 until 2012, Eriksson posted 70 or more points in a season while skating for the Stars. His career-high was in 2011, after Eriksson recorded 73 points (27 goals, 46 assists) in 79 games played.

Unfortunately, the left-handed shooter has only appeared in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on three different occasions. In 34 playoff contests, Eriksson has recorded six goals and eight assists for 14 points.

It will be interesting to see if the Canucks try to deal Eriksson at the 2019 NHL Trade Deadline, and to a Stanley Cup contender that’s also willing to take on his contracts that has three years left ($6 million AAV).
