Winnipeg Jets

With a Star-studded and deep lineup in all areas on the ice, the Winnipeg Jets are on the clock to win the franchise’s first ever Stanley Cup championship.

For the first time in team history, the Jets advanced to the Western Conference Finals last season, but bumped into an uncanny Vegas Golden Knights squad who eliminated them in five games. The Jets are favorites to win the Western Conference again this year, and anything short of a Stanley Cup Final appearance will be considered a bust.

With the likes of forwards Patrik Laine, Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele and others, Winnipeg is dynamic on offense and can produce scoring opportunities with all four lines. The blue line is just as solid with skaters such as Dustin Byfuglien (2010 Stanley Cup winner) and Tyler Myers, plus Connor Hellebuyck is a Vezina Trophy-like goaltender between the pipes.

Still, Blake Wheeler does down as the Jets’ top skater that’s still searching for a Stanley Cup ring. Wheeler, 32, has spent parts of eight seasons with the organization that even dates back to the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010-11; after he was acquired from the Boston Bruins at the NHL Trade Deadline.

Unfortunately, Boston proceeded to win the Stanley Cup that season without the Plymouth, Minnesota native.

Still, the 6-foot-5 skater led the Jets in scoring last season with a career-high 91 points (23 goals, 68 assists). He also chipped in six power-play goals and two game-winners in 2018.
